“House of Mothers” takes you to the “Casa de Santo António” shelter in Lisbon, which provides daily and emotional support to twenty teenage mothers. Throughout their 2 or 3 year-stay these girls are taught to be self-sufficient and to take care of their young children. Torn between childhood and adulthood their path to reach this goal is hard and bumpy – daily routines, social relationships, self-respect and responsibility are not clear and somehow collide with the young mothers’ needs, interests, fears and dreams.
